31.07.2015 - World Gold Council recommends retaining India's current hallmarking model
World Gold Council on Thursday recommended that India's current hallmarking model, built around independent hallmarking and assay centres, should be retained. In addition it recommended six key actions should be taken to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the current system: WGC recommended that the governance around the hallmarking process should be strengthened and there should be a customer awareness drive about hallmarking.There is a need to incentive and facilitate targeted expansion of hallmarking centres.
