31.07.2015 - Australian dollar steady as commodities bounce offsets weak data
The Australian dollar held steady on Thursday after the US Federal Reserve failed to surprise overnight and a lift in commodity prices offset soft domestic data. In late local trade, the Aussie was fetching US73.09¢, compared with US73.16¢ at the same time on Wednesday. The local unit had spiked to US73.46¢ when the US Fed announced its decision to hold rates where they've been for the last 6½ years.
