17.07.2015 - Huge Inflows To High Yield ETFs Once Again Swamp Mutual Fund Withdrawals
There was a net $1.23 billion inflow to U.S. high-yield funds in the week ended July 15, following the diminutive $45 million inflow the week prior, according to Lipper. However, for a second consecutive week, the net inflow this week represents an inverse flow of a $273 million withdrawal from mutual funds overfilled greatly by an inflow of $1.5 billion to the ETF segment. Last week it was the same, but to a much lesser extent, at negative $261 million and positive $306 million, respectively. This week’s observation is the third such negative correlation in that manner in four weeks.
