Copper prices rose to a one-month high on Wednesday, as the possibility of a deal between Greece and its European creditors sparked optimism in metals markets. Copper for March delivery, the most actively traded contract, closed up 1.3% at $2.6145 a pound on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange. It was the highest settlement since Jan. 13. Greece will seek an extension to its rescue deal from the rest of the eurozone, officials said, signaling a shift in the standoff between Athens and its creditors.
