EON SE urged European Union lawmakers to speed up a planned reform of the bloc’s emissions market to bolster prices and spur the transition to a low-carbon economy. A mechanism to ease an oversupply of carbon permits should begin no later than 2017, four years before the start date proposed by the European Commission, according to Christopher Delbrueck, chief executive officer of EON Global Commodities, a unit of Germany’s biggest utility.
