Transparency is often talked about as a hallmark of exchange-traded funds. Many investors are used to being able to look up the current holdings of their ETFs daily, generally on the fund firms’ websites. And last week, the Securities and Exchange Commission said no dice to a proposal for actively managed ETFs that wouldn’t provide daily holdings disclosure.
