El Niņo is a weather phenomenon caused by the warming of the Pacific Ocean that has been known to cause extreme weather patterns and disrupt commodities around the world. Recently the Australian Bureau of Meteorology indicated that six out of seven weather models suggested that sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean could exceed El Niņo thresholds as early as July.
