Nickel gained in London for the first time in four sessions on signs that demand for the metal used to make stainless steel will accelerate just as supply tightens on an ore-export ban from top producer Indonesia. Crude stainless-steel output will rise to a record 39 million metric tons this year on Chinese production, industry consultant MEPS (International) Ltd. said yesterday.
