With the ink barely dry on the redesigned $100 bills released in October, Dan Humphrey and colleagues at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) are already exploring new U.S. currency security features for the future. “The primary reason to redesign the currency is to deter and prevent counterfeiting,” said Humphrey, a program manager in product development. “We’re now working on what technology platform and design to use next time around.
