17.12.2013 - Global coal demand growth seen moderating between 2013 and 2018 -IEA
Tougher Chinese policies aimed at reducing the nation's dependency on coal and curbing pollution will help moderate global coal demand growth over the next five years, said a leading world energy watchdog Monday. The International Energy Agency said in its Medium-Term Coal Market Report that coal is forecast to grow at an average of 2.3% a year through 2018 compared with the 2012 report's forecast of 2.6% for the five years through 2017 and the actual growth of 3.4% a year between 2007 and 2012.
