The International Energy Agency unveiled Wednesday a new look for the statistics pages on its website, and Sankey diagrams of energy production and use are one of the cooler aspects. (Sankey diagrams are directional flow charts where the width of arrows is proportional to the flow quantity. Its namesake first used one to describe the energy efficiency of a steam engine.)
