China's slowing economic growth is weighing on base metal prices. The country's consumer inflation rose 2.1 per cent on-year in May, compared with 2.4 per cent in April. "The sluggish economic indicators seen may continue to pressure base metal prices today," OCBC Bank says in a note. Base metals are sensitive to economic data from China, the world's biggest consumer of industrial metals.
