Saudi Arabia and Iran face off at Friday’s Opec meeting – not about oil prices and supply, but over the leadership of the cartel of oil producers. The office of the Opec secretary-general is often seen as largely ceremonial, but its importance cannot be overstated with oil prices still hovering above $100 a barrel.
