Sweeping changes to financial advice rules, including the banning of commissions, will fuel Australia's ETF sector, which grew 30 per cent last year to $6.5 billion and is forecast to grow to $17 billion over the next three years. ETFs - which are traded on the stock exchange and are designed to track a particular share index, commodity or other type of asset - have only been available in Australia for 12 years.
