Assets in the SPDR Gold Trust, the biggest exchange-traded fund backed by the metal, dropped in the longest slump on record as the U.S. economy improves. Holdings fell 12 metric tons, or 0.9 percent, to 1,258.40 tons, the lowest since August, according to data on the fund’s website today.
