Gold-mining stocks are struggling to keep up with increases in gold prices. Gold-mining shares, which generally mirror the yellow metal's movement, have trailed so far this year. While analysts say they may eventually catch up, they caution that the escalating cost of getting the metal out of the ground should hamper any rapid recoupling.
