31.01.2012 - U.S. mineral values rise to $74 bln in 2011--USGS
U.S. mineral production values increased by 12% in 2011 over 2010, indicating that the nonfuel minerals industries, metals in particular, continued to show a recovery from the recession that began in 2007, the U.S. Geological Survey said Monday. In its annual summary of mineral production statistics and summary of trends and statistics, USGS said the value of raw, nonfuel minerals mined in the U.S. in 2011 was $74 billion.
