Agricultural and other commodities are growing and maturing as an investment class, comparable now to more established asset classes such as equities. The value of such commodity-based ETFs swelled by 41% in 2010, as investors poured in money. In Q1 of this year, ETFs with exposure to agricultural commodities saw $3.6 billion in net inflows, according to fund manager Blackrock.
