26.02.2010 - Indian commexes turnover surges 51pct
From Financialexpress.com: Turnover of 23 commodity bourses surged by 51% to Rs 66.24 lakh crore till February 15 this fiscal underpinned by agricultural and other goods, the commodities market regulator Forward Markets Commission (FMC) said on Thursday. The turnover had stood at Rs 43.93 lakh crore in the corresponding period last year, it said. According to the FMC, higher turnover has come from increased trade in agricultural and other goods after the government removed the suspension on five out of eight commodities. The ban on chana, soya oil, rubber, potato futures was lifted in December 2008, while on wheat was lifted in May last year........................................Full Article: Source
