Billion Dollar Club: Bridgewater remains at the top

Opalesque Industry Update - Absolute Return has released its latest Billion Dollar Club ranking.

Key findings:

· The largest 314 hedge funds in the Americas managed a combined $1.97 trillion at the midyear, up 5.50% from the start of 2015.

· Club assets increased by $103 billion over the first half of the year, and collectively these firms account for a staggering 91% of all US hedge fund assets

· Bridgewater is the world’s first $100 billion hedge fund firm, having ballooned to $103.6 billion as of July.

· Major winners include Bridgewater Associates, AQR Capital Management and Millennium Management.

· New members of the Club are $1.2 billion global equity shop Folger Hill Capital Management, and the credit-focused $1 billion Wingspan Investment Management.
