Equinox Funds launches the Equinox Aspect Core Diversified Strategy Fund

Friday, November 14, 2014
Opalesque Industry Update - Equinox Funds, a provider of alternative investments, has announced the launch of the Equinox Aspect Core Diversified Strategy Fund. By deploying a medium-term trend following strategy developed by Aspect Capital Limited, a legendary alternative asset management firm based in London, the Fund seeks to quantitatively identify and profit from price moves in highly liquid and diverse futures markets across global asset classes.

"At Aspect, we believe that trend following strategies can be a source of persistent investment return opportunities and may provide valuable portfolio diversification," says Anthony Todd, CEO of Aspect, "and we are delighted to have partnered with Equinox Funds in the launch of the Equinox Aspect Core Diversified Strategy Fund, which provides mutual fund investors with access to our trend following strategy."

"Investors are increasingly interested in liquid alternative investment strategies," commented Robert J. Enck, President and CEO of Equinox Fund Management, LLC ("Equinox") "By combining Aspect's expertise in developing trend following strategies and Equinox Funds' experience in distributing liquid alternatives, we believe that the Equinox Aspect Core Diversified Strategy Fund is perfectly positioned to respond to a growing market need among mutual fund investors," continued Mr. Enck.

Equinox Funds has been an innovator in alternative investment product development and distribution since Equinox's founding in 2003. In December 2009, Equinox Funds launched the Equinox MutualHedge Futures Strategy Fund, the first actively managed mutual fund with exposure to Commodity Trading Advisor programs. Equinox Funds also sponsors the Equinox EquityHedge US Strategy Fund, the Equinox Alternative Strategy Platform, a menu of single commodity trading advisor programs offered in a mutual fund format, and Equinox Frontier Funds, a public managed futures family of funds with daily liquidity.

Aspect is a London-based investment manager which applies a systematic and quantitative approach to investment management. Aspect was established in 1997 by Anthony Todd, Martin Lueck, Michael Adam and Eugene Lambert and is currently managed by a senior team which has extensive experience in the development and implementation of systematic investment strategies. Two of Aspect's founders, Michael Adam and Martin Lueck, were involved in the successful development of Adam, Harding & Lueck (AHL, now a part of Man Group plc), one of the pioneers in the application of quantitative techniques to investment management.

Medium-term trend following strategy: Seeks to capitalize on momentum or price trends across global asset classes by taking either long or short positions when a trend is determined to have been established. The strategy is applied using a medium-term time frame generally between one to six months.

Mutual Funds involve risk including possible loss of principal. Alternative investments may not be suitable for all investors. There is no guarantee that any investment will achieve its investment objective and no amount of diversification can ensure profits or prevent losses. The Fund may be subject to liquidity risk primarily due to investments in derivatives. The Fund may invest up to 15% of its net assets in illiquid securities or instruments. A significant portion of the Fund's investment in futures contracts and futures-related instruments take place on markets or exchanges outside the United States. As a general rule, there is less legal and regulatory protection for investors in foreign markets than that available domestically.

Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges, and expenses of the Funds. These and other important information about the Funds are contained in the applicable Prospectus, which can be obtained by calling 1-888-643-3431. The Prospectus should be read carefully before investing.
