Circle Partners acquires Caledonian Global Fund Services

Opalesque Industry Update - Circle Partners, an independent financial services provider with headquarters in the Netherlands, today announced the acquisition of Caledonian Global Fund Services Limited based in Orlando, Florida; the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands.

Says Michael van Zanten, global head of fund services: "With this acquisition, Circle Partners is well positioned to further expand its fund administration services to the US marketplace and to strengthen its presence in the Western Hemisphere, having acquired fund services operations in Curacao back in 2012. There is an important and logical step in our strategy of becoming a global service provider."

Circle Partners was incorporated in 2000 and provides fund administration, fiduciary management and advisory services to its clients. Circle Partners’ three founding partners: Sükrü Evrengün, Pieter-Jan van der Pols and Erik Kuijl, each have over twenty years of work experience in the fund administration and banking industry. Michel van Zanten joined Circle Partners in 2013 as global head of fund services after having worked in various senior roles at Credit Suisse and Citco Fund Services.

Circle Partners has operational offices in Amersfoort (the Netherlands), Bratislava (Slovakia), Luxembourg and Curaçao (Dutch Caribbean) and representative offices in Zurich and London. With the completion of this acquisition, the Circle Partners group now employs approximately 70 employees, services all types of alternative funds, with a combined sum of assets under administration of over US$6 billion.

Given the current market conditions and increased regulation, Circle Partners is now better positioned to meet the needs of its clients, in particular those who require to be serviced out of multiple geographical locations. Its goal remains to be a reliable and trustworthy be achieved by rendering impeccable services.
