| Opalesque Industry Update - The Scotiabank Canadian Hedge Fund Index ended March 2012 down 4.06% (-3.77% YTD) on an asset weighted basis and down 2.06% (-0.26% YTD) on an equal weighted basis. Broader market equity indices advanced in the US while they retreated in Canada. Gains in the US continued as the S&P500 posted an increase of 3.13% (12.00% YTD). Canadian hedge funds posted mostly negative returns for the month of March, though the distribution of said returns was narrow. bg |
