From Independent.ie: Apart from a small number of investments in Irish listed firms, it wasn’t until last week that we experienced a first for private Irish business – the €200m investment in Jurys Inns by the oil-rich state of Oman [via the Oman Investment Fund].

From Brad Setser’s Blog: Some are unleveraged and focus on returns, in much the same way a typical pension funds. Some are leveraged. Some have a mandate that extends beyond financial returns, looking more like industrial policy vehicles than a typical pension fund.
