UCITS HFS Index starts positive into August 2010, up 0.22% month to date

Opalesque Industry Update - The UCITS HFS Index gained 0.22% in the first week of trading in August 2010 (by business day 5, August 6th 2010). Out of the eleven strategies five performed negative, Currency (-0.49%), Credit (-0.38%) and Global Macro (0.24%) being the biggest losers. The best performing strategy by far was CTA with gains of 1.11%, which is the only sub-strategy that still is negative on a year to date basis (-1.44%). The top performing strategy of July, Convertible, was also able to continue its momentum and returned a noteworthy 0.72% last week and stands at +3.25% in 2010.
