Opalesque Industry Update - Marinus Capital Advisors LLC, an alternative fixed income asset manager specializing in the broad spectrum of structured products, has announced that Aaron Garvey has joined the firm as a senior macro trader.

Mr. Garvey was formerly a senior portfolio manager at MKP Capital Management, where he worked from 1996 to 2012 and was a partner from 2004 to 2012. Following his time at MKP, Mr. Garvey was a senior portfolio manager at Brevan Howard and at Davy Capital.

Mr. Garvey will report to Mr. Canaan. “Aaron’s extensive experience in the macro and rates areas, particularly within the context of structured products portfolios, will be an invaluable asset to the investment team at Marinus,” said Mr. Canaan.

During his 16-year career at MKP, Mr. Garvey managed Directional Macro, Fixed Income Relative Value and Interest Rate Volatility strategies and was responsible for idea generation, execution, trade and portfolio management and risk management. Mr. Garvey holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and American Literature from Amherst College (1995).
