April’s performance for Market Vector’s Hedge Fund Beta indices shows Asia out in front

Opalesque Industry Update - Market Vector Index Solutions revealed April performance for its six investable hedge fund indices. Since 2003, the firm has used a patented methodology to capture the beta returns of universes of statistically similar hedge funds. The firm currently has four regional and two global long/short equity hedge fund strategies.

The MV North American Index saw returns over April of 0.79%, over three months of 3.36% and one year of 8.68%. Developed Asia saw the best returns with a monthly return of 3.02%, a three month figure of 4.06% and one year of 5.91%. Europe saw a monthly figure of 0.40%, three monthly of 1.56% and yearly of 6.86%.

Best performing in terms of annualised over life was the North American index with a return of 7.12%, while the worst was Western Europe with an annualised return of 4.05%.
