Opalesque Roundup: Hedge funds up in 21 of the trailing 22 months: hedge fund news, week 02

In the week ending 12 January, 2018, the HFRI Fund Weighted Composite Index had a perfect year and is up 8.5% in 2017 (+0.9% in December). The index advanced in 21 of the trailing 22 months, including each of the last 14 months.

The Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index up 0.84% in December, 8.24% in 2017; Lyxor hedge funds gained 4.2% in 2017, still favoring bottom-up strategies in 2018; The Wilshire Liquid Alternative Index ended 2017 up 3.25%; The eVestment Hedge Fund Index gained 8.83% in 2017; The Barclay Hedge Fund Index gained 1.21% in December (+10.44% 2017); The Barclay CTA Index Up 0.54% in December (+0.69% in 2017); TheSS&C GlobeOp Hedge Fund Performance Index: December performance 0.84%; The Catalyst Funds partnered with BNP Paribas to create the BNP Paribas Catalyst Systematic Alpha Index (BNPP CASA Index); And the Index of "undiscovered" hedge fund managers up 18.5% gross in 2017.
