ABN Amro: A prime broker coming from the processing and post-trading side

Contrary to most other prime brokers, ABN Amro Clearing has built its PB business coming from the processing and post-trading side of the business and says it therefore offers advantages particularly in cross-assets, cross-markets and integrated execution, said Gildas Le Treut, the firm's global head of prime.

Le Treut made the comments at the recent Opalesque 2014 Netherlands Roundtable which was sponsored by ABN AMRO Clearing and Eurex.

Le Treut explained, "We are positioning ourselves as a different kind of prime broker. This comes from our history and our strengths. Contrary to most other prime brokers, we are coming from the processing and post-trading side of the business. That is a big difference from the other major prime brokers which are usually investment banks. ABN Amro Clearing grew by the combination of a leading global clearing firm and top rated global custody platform, to service very demanding top tier institutions."

He added that ABN Amro is now known to be efficient, nimble, innovative, financially sound and extremely focused on hedge funds' strategies where its cross assets-cross markets correlation is unmatched. There are not many prime brokers that cover all a......................
