'Alternative Alternatives' investment funds up 1.52% in February (+3.76% YTD)

Florian Guldner, Opalesque Research: Opalesque Ltd. today announced the results of the Opalesque A SQUARE ('alternative-alternatives') indices covering the performance of niche alternative investment funds. The indices are calculated based on the net performance of 704 single- and multi-manager funds currently listed in 23 categories in the Opalesque Solutions A SQUARE Fund Database (Source).

The Opalesque A SQUARE Index gained 1.52% in February, bringing the cumulative return for the first two months to 3.76%. Estimates for January and December were corrected to +2.21% and -0.88% respectively. The A SQUARE Funds of Funds Index gained only 0.40% last month, resulting in a year-to date return of 1.57%.
