New analytics software revolutionizes portfolio construction

By Matthias Knab, Opalesque Europe: in February 2008, in a far country, I sat down with a group of fund of fund managers, mathematicians and programmers who agitatedly demonstrated me the prototype of a new portfolio management and analysis software. On my frequent trips, I often come to see new ideas, developments and prototypes before they hit the market, but that one was really impressive.

"This will revolutionize the market of Portfolio Analytics software", the team told me with beaming eyes. "People are not aware that even some of the professional analytics software on the market use wrong formulas in their statistics. That was one of the reasons we have built our own system, which we are using since 2005."

The team has since then continued the development of their product into a full fledged analytics suite, which now has been made available to the public.
