Spanish FoF acquires UK firm

Altex Partners, one of the first independent funds of hedge funds management companies regulated in Spain increases international presence acquiring Alpha Value Management, UK

The management company Altex Partners gains size and international presence by merging with Alpha Value Management, an investment manager based in London regulated by the FSA. Both investment managers are specialized in the management of funds of hedge funds. Altex is known for its Altex family of funds in Spain, its Luxembourg registered Sigma funds and for its specialization in the Asian hedge industry. In addition, Altex acts as investment advisor for other investment managers' hedge products. Alpha Value Management manages Avalon and Oeil funds, both domiciled in Ireland.

With this operation Santiago Alarcó joins Altex as a London-based partner. He has vast experience in fixed income, global macro and risk management. "For us, it is a way of adding talent, assets under management and international presence. Santiago's experience as Managing Director in the Arbitrage Trading Department in Salomon Brothers, as well as other positions in ABN and Morgan Stanley is a key complement to Altex’s management team", points out Carlos Dexeus, Altex Partners CEO.

The resulting company will manage $400 million assets in funds of hedge funds in Ireland, Spain and Luxembourg, and will have registered investment management companies both in Spain and the UK. This operation will be closed in the next day......................
