Near Term Trend: Negative

Friday’s Close: 1353.39 (- 4.60)

UPDATE: Five weeks ago we went short and placed a daily stop close only at 1402.40.

Unfortunately we were stopped out, as the Index settled at 1403.36, two weeks ago. As we said at the time, “We may have been whipsawed”, Thus far that is true.

We were early to sell the S&P, and NASDAQ, as most market participants five to six weeks ago were still very much bullish. We remain short the NASDAQ, and stated in our last report on Thursday, “At this juncture, if you are buying- only take partial positions as overhead is well defined”.

Resistance up to 1385.00 is formidable.
